For more than seventy years, Miracle Hill's mission has been that homeless men, women and children receive food and shelter with compassion, hear the Good News of Jesus Christ and become productive members of society.

Beginning in 1937 with a small rescue mission in downtown Greenville, Miracle Hill Ministries expanded to meet the changing and diverse needs of homeless, hungry, and destitute people.

Specialized outreach departments provide Christian encouragement and care to men, women, children and families in four upstate South Carolina counties. These include:

  • Miracle Hill Ministries
  • Greenville Rescue Mission
  • Miracle Hill Rescue Mission Spartanburg
  • Miracle Hill Rescue Mission Cherokee
  • Miracle Hill Boys' Shelter
  • Miracle Hill Children's Home
  • Miracle Hill Foster Care
  • Miracle Hill Homes for Life

Serving the Upstate

Little Steps is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive services to teen and young parents.  We offer an environment of encouragement and accountability to help young mothers and fathers become more confident, self-sufficient parents.  We accomplish this through four unique components:

  •  Pregnancy, Parenting & Life Skills Classes
  •  Peer Groups
  •  One-on-One Mentoring
  •  Parent-Child Enrichment Activities

Parents are encouraged to participate in all four components to receive the most benefit.  Our program is designed to provide the resources and positive support to foster nurturing environments and strengthen each participant's ability to more independently provide for themselves and their children.

Our Goals:

  • Help the members of our program become self-sufficient, healthy, confident parents
  •  Reduce the teen pregnancy rate in Greenville County
  •  Increase awareness in our community of the realities of teen pregnancy
  •  Increase the high school graduation rate of teen parents in Greenville County

We have a need for volunteers and members to serve on our Board of Directors.  We welcome any assistance that you can offer to our organization.  Please visit our website at www.LittleStepsSC.org or contact us at 864-243-8694 to learn about the opportunities that will best fit you, your business, church or other community group.

A Child's Haven is a therapeutic child care treatment program for children under the age of six with developmental delays and behavior problems. In Greenville County there are nearly 5,000 young children living in severe poverty, just struggling to survive and almost 500 children under the age of six who are confirmed victims of neglect or abuse, according to DSS records. Those are the children who are most in need of intervention…the kind of intervention and therapy that is provided at A Child's Haven.

Our program combines therapeutic intervention for the children at our center and educational and prevention services for their families at home. Weekly home visits and parenting classes are offered at the center both morning and evening. Families have many issues facing them and the clinical staff assigned helps to move them through the maze of services available. Current enrollment is 70 children and families. Volunteers are welcome to contact us for information.

The Asociación Hispano-Americana de Mujeres (AHAM), also known as Hispanic-American Women’s Association, was established as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization in 1998.

Since its inception, AHAM has dedicated to promote the Hispanic folklore, culture, and traditions, and provide scholarships to high school graduates of Hispanic descent in Upstate SC. These scholarships have enabled Hispanic students to pursue higher education, at a university, technical college, or vocational school of their choice. The scholarship program is made possible through donations received from private businesses, individuals, and the volunteer work of all AHAM members in fundraising activities.
AHAM also collaborates with other Upstate non-profit organizations.

In 1999, AHAM awarded $1,000.00 to Sara Hooper, who continued her successful academic career at Clemson University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 2003. Since its foundation, AHAM has awarded a total of $ 272,300 in scholarships benefiting 119 outstanding Hispanic students in the Upstate SC.

The Old Master Painting Collection at the Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University beautifully traces the artistic, cultural, and religious history of Western Europe from the 14th through the 19th centuries. Works by recognized artists such as Rubens, van Dyck, Reni, Murillo and others are aesthetically exhibited with period furniture, sculpture, and tapestries to lend a period ambience to the galleries and give patrons a panoramic view of ages past. We live in an age and culture full of misconceptions about Christianity. As a result, many people are left with negative impressions of Christians and the church as a whole. At Fellowship Greenville, we want to live in such a way that others can't help but see what authentic Christianity looks like. Our hope is that the misconceptions people might have carried for a long time will begin to fade away as we seek to become a community of grace, passionately pursuing life and mission with Jesus. We long for people to be drawn back to Jesus, seeing him and the life he offers in a fresh, new way.

We invite you to come and experience the heart-felt worship, warm fellowship, and straight-forward biblical teaching that Fellowship Greenville has to offer. We don't claim to have a corner on the market when it comes to good churches, but we do feel that we are different from other churches you might visit in the Greenville area. We hope to have you as our guest.

Dress is casual. Programs for children up to eighth grade are available on Sunday mornings, while our high school ministry meets on Wednesday evenings. Check fellowshipgreenville.org/new for up-to-date service times, directions, and tips for new guests.

Since 1985, Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County has been helping working, low-income families in Greenville County attain homeownership. Partnering with businesses, corporations, churches, civic organizations, and volunteers, Habitat Greenville builds affordable homes which meet Energy Star and NAHB ICC-700 green building standards. Homes are sold to qualified families earning 30%-60% of the area median income (AMI) who meet Habitat's criteria for partnership. This includes completion of the organization's homeowner preparation program and fulfillment of 200 hours of "sweat equity" working on their home and other Habitat homes. A zero-percent mortgage provided by Habitat makes homeownership sustainable and enables families to break the generational cycle of poverty. Homeownership creates more stable families, responsible neighbors and involved citizens. In turn, Greenville County neighborhoods and communities are strengthened and improved.

Homes of Hope began in 1998 with the dream to provide families in poverty with a housing option they could both afford and be proud to call home.  Simultaneously, another idea developed to restore men's lives through sobriety and job training as they acquired life-changing skills in constructing some of our homes.

From humble beginnings remodeling and repairing mobile homes, Homes of Hope has grown into the largest non-profit developer of single-family affordable housing in South Carolina.  The small job training program has grown into a successful workforce development initiative that truly transforms the lives of graduates and sets them up for successful careers in well-paying trades.

To date, Homes of Hope has developed 611 homes and has had 308 graduates of the Men's Workforce Development program.  Homes of Hope has been a member of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce since 2007.

A Home Away From Home since 1989: The Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Carolinas provides for the physical and emotional well being of children and their families.

It is a promise that all parents make to their child- I will always be there for you. But life can change in a split second…by an accident, or by words spoken from a doctor.

The Ronald McDonald House in Greenville helps families of seriously ill children cope with the stress and expense of daily living while trying to be close and emotionally strong for their child. More than just a room and a hot meal, the Ronald McDonald House is a “home away from home” for families faced with a child’s medical crisis. It can be a quiet place to be alone, or a place of companionship, sharing, and emotional support.

Celebrating its 33rd season, SCCT continues to provide the finest live theatre experience to the Upstate community. Young people and adults have the opportunity to work with talented directors, choreographers and musicians, as well as the chance to be on stage at the Peace Center Gunter Theatre, a state-of-the-art performance venue. 2nd Stage is held at the KROC Center Village, and WeePlay Theatre bring even more opportunity to be a part of live theatre for the very youngest theatre patrons.

SCCT is more than a performance theatre. Offering a year-round educational program in the dramatic arts, our Conservatory for Theatre Arts is a professional center that provides theatre instruction to young people ages 3-18 at our temporary headquarters in the Village of West Greenville. Our highly trained and diversely talented faculty follows national standards, designing classes to develop performance, communication, cooperation, self-discipline, and critical thinking skills.

Perhaps the least known of SCCT's endeavors is its Theatre Outreach Partnerships (TOPs), which provide educational opportunities in the dramatic arts for youth who are at-risk, disadvantaged, hospitalized, or have special needs, at no cost to the participants.

We are dedicated to saving the lives of South Carolina women by educating them on the warning signs of ovarian cancer, actively supporting those diagnosed with the disease, and encouraging ovarian cancer research.
The SC Ovarian Cancer Foundation was created in 1999 by ovarian cancer patients, healthcare providers, and other concerned individuals who share the goals of achieving earlier detection and higher survival rates for this deadly disease.
We are available to speak to groups of women, participate in health fairs, conduct special training for medical and nursing students, and partner with other organizations to increase awareness across the state.

Homelessness is a harrowing situation whenever it occurs. When this happens to women and men who have served and risked their lives for our country, it is a tragedy. “We are honored to serve our homeless and at-risk veterans as they have served our country. Working as a team in a professional, caring, and compassionate environment will yield benefits for all whom are involved.” Our Homeless Veteran’s Reintegration Program (HVRP) is a competitive grant program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor. This nationwide grant is focused on placing homeless veterans into jobs and support services. The purpose of the HVRP is to provide services to assist in reintegrating homeless veterans into meaningful employment within the labor force and to stimulate the development of effective service delivery systems that will address the complex problems facing homeless veterans.

Crisis Assistance - Offers financial assistance with rent, utilities, food, and life-sustaining medications. Homeless Services - In addition to providing basic services such as showers and laundry, the Place of Hope day shelter provides case management through which the root causes of homelessness are addressed. "Veteran Scholarships Forever (VSF) was created to help Veterans transition back to civilian life quickly and successfully.  Even though the skills learned in the military are valuable, new skill sets may be required for today’s civilian job market—continuing education is the answer.  Even though there are government programs, such as the G.I. Bill, which help Veterans get an education, these programs don’t cover all types of training.  Our goal at VSF is to set up scholarships for Veterans at accredited colleges, to cover the vocational and skilled trades certification courses that can lead to good jobs quickly.  Please visit our website at www.scholarshipsforever.org."
